merel maan galama is an artist, curator and writer who is born on a piece of soil that is called the Netherlands, and based in Berlin. Galama’s practice moves between ethnographic research, writing, analog photography, and film. The assemblages springing from these practices merge intimate encounters with broader socio-ecological questions. Within these assemblages, listening unfolds as a way through which contextual and non-hierarchical forms of coexistence are unearthed in site-specific imaginaries.
